Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Slow-oxed for 3 hours. This started off a little charmless and foursquare, with little fruit and clunky tannins on the palate. At about hour 5-6, though, it began to flesh out and show some character. It shows the black raspberry, floral, and mineral notes I would expect from this vineyard on the nose. The palate is medium bodied and still a little compact, with the fruit not yet in harmony with the acidity and tannins. The finish is kind of unremarkable. This bottle was in an awkward phase. I don't think this will every be a fantastic wine, but I would expect it to begin to show more charm with another, say, 3 years in the cellar.
