  • Cellared very well but pulled this one just in time as the wine was about a milimeter from seeping past the cork. Nice red color with no brown edges. Not a lot of fruit on the nose at first, yet the first sip revealed relaxed tannins and a soft fruit profile with some tobacco/leather dominating. Opened up very quickly (not decanted, just corked) and we really started drinking it after 45 min or an hour and it was great and still opening. The fruit came back to life and the tobacco faded to the back revealing a very nice finish. Classic Rosso di Montalcino, paired very well with the food.
