NobleRottersSydney - Langtons Classification (Alio's, Surry Hills): [Diam, 11.5%] There’s only a splash of pinot in this (the front label reads ‘chardonnay’), but it still manages to poke some strawberry aromas through the biscuity nose. Seven years on lees has given this wine the intriguing mix of youthful flavours but with some development, there is plenty of lemon and grapefruit on the palate to keep any yeasty notes under control. Dry palate, but the bubbles are surprisingly large and aggressive considering the winemaking. None-the-less, this is a pretty distinguished sparkler that could commence a second life in the cellar quite easily.

Pyrenees Wineries' Visit (Pyrenees, Vic): {cork, 11.5%, A$29} Some development evident on the nose here, although the 7 years on lees has certainly added to the complexity. Aromas of cheese and sourdough precede a creamy-textured palate showing plenty of chardonnay/yeasty characters with a dash of lemon-butter. Persistent and appetising.

Denise Annual Wine Fiesta (Duxton Hill): Lovely lemons with just some bready notes showing. Comfortable and showing some complexity.
