Wow! I was worried that I had waited too long but it was great. Light bodied but all of the expected burgundy notes: barnyard nose along with some herbal, almost floral notes. Crisp on the palate with perfect acidity. Paired very well with grilled salmon. Probably should drink now though it wouldn't surprise me if it continues to be fine.

This wine is maybe on the edge of its prime but still had nice complex burgundy aromas (barn-y, soil-y, herbal). It was a bit acidic on the palate. We saved it too long but I think it's still okay. Would not save longer.

Blind tasted and guessed a Perdrix stable Pinot which had I not already tasted some would have had me guessing an Ozzie Pinot... Very dark with little signs of age. Pinot nose with resin sap, orange peel zest and big oak. Juicy with lively acidity and orange peel. I just realized that I tasted this 5 years ago - it has come a long way. Probably the best 2005 French wine I have tried! 3 days later from the fridge still zippy and very youthful - wait another 5 years and it may go to 92-93.

Blind tasting for my guest. Very dark hue for a pinot. Mouth obvious, nice concentrated fruit with acidity. Strong structure on light tobacco, sap and just a hint of bramble bush. The question is does it have some finesse ? Yes indeed. And does it correspond to burgundy? Well it should be a Mercurey... And It taste like a Californian pinot. Domaine des Perdrix is known to produce like that. Excellent

Blind tasted straight from bottle - without decanting. Light brick hues on the rim indicated some age. Soft vanilla with raspberries, strawberries and a lightly resinous/sappy nose. Grippy, chalky tannins and otherwise the mouth corresponded with the nose - not a terroir style, straightforward. I guessed a Californian Pinot Noir, like a David Bruce style from the Central Coast. Overoaked for sure - simple, pleasurable and not complex. Very good but only just.
