Delicious! A little funk needed to blow off at first -- then very very soft tannins, lots of black fruit, nice and long in the palate. Medium bodied. Just shows how well made these Aastra Pinots are.

Must agree with most other posters thus far. A little plain for the price point honestly but luckily I picked some up at around $28. Popped & poured through Vinturi and then decanted. After that a slow ox until game time today for the Super bowl. This wine was really intense in fruit (almost overly so). Reason I say that is because the acidity seemed a little out of balance for the fruit structure. Still good but keeps it from going further up the rating scale. On the nose, it was muted but a dark fruit overtone permeated through. The color was intense purple almost black. On the palate, a big wine loaded with intense dark fruit & spice. It was smooth but a little out of balance as mentioned (much like the Broncos tonight sadly). :) On the finish, it was just medium in length. Still a good wine but fell short of the great wines in this category. Still recommended to those who can find it for under $30

Perfectly fine, but nothing to write home about. Drank with a bunch of people who didn't really appreciate wine so it served its purpose. Nothing on the nose really got me excited. No decant, but didn't seem to improve in my glass as the night chugged along.

Popped & poured as we were finishing our last glass of Ken Wright Guadalupe Vineyard 2009 Pinot Noir. In comparison, this wine was absolutely gigantic, in nose & palette, wow! Nose: big with lots of spice, also caught a whiff of funk at about 10" but couldn't detect it again later. Palette: huge, loaded with sweet dark fruit & spice, but very smooth & round all the way down, fantastic. Finish: long & rich of dark fruit. This wine was outstanding, it blew everyone away. I paired with roasted duck, mushroom cream pasta & roasted brussel sprouts - this wine is easily big enough to stand up to any big, rich dish, unlike most Pinots. Only downside is that I only have 1 bottle left, wish we had purchased more...

Election night 2012 wine dinner at Bonda: Drank this side by side with the 2007 Adastra pinot. Much more fruit on the nose vs. the regular 2007 Adastra. Much darker in color as well. More red fruit on the nose and no band aid. A nice wine, but glad that I didn't pay $52 for it.

(Adastra Pinot Noir Proximus) Medium dark red color; nice, poised, strawberry, mineral nose; tasty but tight yet, tart cherry, red fruit, mineral palate with poise; medium-plus finish 91+ pts.
