  • Contextual Condition: Wine from cellar, room temperature at 24.3 Celcius

The smell: When open about 20 minutes, the smell is not clean. After leave it for 5 minutes, caramel is appear and the smell much more cleaner. Menthol, a bit of the blackberry fruit is noticeable. A tiny smell of chocolate also notice.

From the visible condition: the wine itself seems to show some of the age. The rim already turn into somewhat brown while at the core is not shown much concentration of the color as new wine does, nor still keep a good color indeed.

The taste: Watery, cannot feel any alcohol or tannin at all. A bit of acidity is left. No any oak feeling or influence.

Conclusion: If you are going to party and not serious about wine, it is a good choice. If you are really serious about wine, you should not buy this. However, I think the 2006 vintage already out of the market in the US. You should look for a newer vintage and I think it will be more brilliant if you happen to drink it at the very early stage. Don't leave it on the cellar until it reaches the condition which is already somewhat old.

For Thai buyers: Apart from high moral tax in our country, this wine is already somewhat old and I strongly suggest to find a newer vintage since 2006 are still flows around the wine shop in Bangkok. I would not suggest to buy this vintage at the cost around 20 USD. Rather, find something else at this price which is better.

  • Just a surprisingly good every day cab. Pleasant fruit taste with some decent tannins on the back end. A little tobacco taste on the finish as well. Good QPR.

  • I'm a little surpised at the low scores on Cellartracker. Yes, this is an inexpensive Cab but has all the traits of a decent Cab. I'm not sure why but you can't seem to find a decent low priced Cab from California yet Washington seems to be able to knock these out of the park all the time. It might be lacking some tannin but it was tasty. Brighter fruit up front with a leathery tobacco flavor on the backside.

  • Easy drinking, inexpensive bottle. However, found just a trace of residual sweetness to be objectionable.
