  • Had this at a dinner event last night. Someone in our group found a case of it in the back room of a neighborhood wine shop and paid $400 for the bottle. Not bad for a wine that was rumored to have only seen 200 bottles shipped to the states. Needless to say, once the word got out, the case was gone within 24 hours. This was stunning and layered with flavors that lasted for what seemed like minutes. However, I disagree with Parker that this could cellar for 100 years.

  • Third wine I have tasted from this star producer and the second(!) which was not possible to drink. The first wine, the Contador, tasted last year was simply amazing. Then the second wine, "La Cueva del Contador", and this, the third wine, from the same producer was not drinkable. The Miyamoto had an ok nose tonight, but was so acidic it tasted like it had already started its decay years ago. Rather strange for a high quality 2004 Rioja.
