This was a good bottle, but I think I waited too long. Honey flavors dominated. It had enough acidity to avoid being cloying, but more acid would have made it ever better.

Unfortunately, not a great showing. There was petrol, honey and lemon curd, and a bitter almond finish. Others seemed to like it well enough, but it was a shell of what I had anticipated it might be.

Popped, poured, and followed over 3 days. Only trace oxidation noted. Previous tasting notes still accurate. I enjoyed the nice acidity and freshness in this bottle compared to the 1994er auslese*** which seemed slightly cloying, muted and tired.
Brilliant pairing with honey baked christmas ham and sweet potatoe/roasted sunchoke purée.

Purchased recently in Portland OR from Liner and Elsen. Light gold color. Nose of honey and brown spices. Quite rich, perfumed and potent, but also lively - indicates a nice acid component. Red and green apples, white grapes and raisins. Almost a touch of pepper. Lots of honey and spice on the palate. Shows nice hints of acid under the surface on entry, that begin to blossom in the midpalate, but then fade disappointingly in the end-palate and finish. The midpalate is quite nice - full and ripe with the acid aspects. Nose - 5/6, Palate - 5/6, Finish - 4/6, Je Ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 15.5/20.
