  • (For this particular vintage this cuvée is supposedly based on younger and less sun exposed vines from 1er Cru Mont de Milieu)
    APPEARANCE: Golden colour. No sediments.
NOSE: Initially quite a lot of wax plus some "wet stone minerality". Half an hour of air doesn't change much except for adding a light hint of smoke. Eventually a nice, clean sea water aroma joins in. (89p)
TASTE: Already straight out of the bottle this tastes fresher and more alive than my last bottle three years ago. Citrus fruitiness (as in restrained fruitiness, Chablis style), quite a lot of minerals, medium bodied, just a slight week spot somewhere on the mid palate, quite fresh and acidic (in a good way), with a steely acidic backbone. After half an hour of airing the wine has grown more backbone and become more defined. It's racier and fruitier too. (88p)
SUMMARY: It's alive! And what a comeback! It's clearly a better wine than the one I had three years ago. Also taking other tasters' varying reports into consideration, it seems that this wine may have been prone to bottle variations.
I feel that it's more or less at peak maturity. I think that (perhaps due to the above mentioned grape selection) there is acidity to go a long way yet, but I'm afraid that the acidity will gradually begin to dominate the (more rapidly maturing) fruit and substance of the wine.
    Total score 88 points.

  • Nose: Quite neutral. Some minerals and sea water. Wax and wet wool or cut grass, red currant and black currant, hints of honey.
Taste & palate: Minerals, quite tight/slim, citrus, medium fruitiness.
Tonight's third aged Chablis and the third disappointment. Not totally wrong and at least this one was not oxidised or totally over the hill. Hmmm.... Let's give it more air and see what happens.
4 hours of airing has not changed much except that the wine appears less tight and a bit broader on the palate, but still imbalanced and partly over the hill.

  • Litt bedre enn 2006.

  • Farge: Lys gul.
Duft: Ganske lukket etter åpning, litt voks, etterhvert noe sjø,
Smak: Middels slank, fin syre, mineralsk.
