Decanted for approx 4 hours prior to the first glass, the consumed over the next couple hours. I've found the last bottles to have a purple fruit character I didn't like at all, and some heat. This long decant helped to tame those elements, though I was left with a rather forgettable bottle of wine. I'd probably do the same next time...

Becomes more jammy with each bottle. I really need to walk away from this wine for some time, see if they come back around. Used 2nd half of the bottle in a fig reduction, worked quite well. I see a lamb stew in the future for this wine, otherwise will try to keep hands off for some time to come.

No official notes taken. A vast improvement over the Couron CDR I tasted earlier this week. The nose had no mustiness at all making me think the Couron was corked after all. In fact, the nose on this one had fresh dark berry fruit and a bit of meatiness. The mouthfeel was nice and the palate was rich without being over-powering. High B+

Lovely aromas of tobacco and menthol. Straightforward fruit, decent acid. It has a lingering cocoa caramel finish that I find a bit too cloying. The finish does get better with time in the glass. Overall a solid, albeit unspectacular, CDR and a good value at the low to mid teen price point.

(Domaine La Millière Côtes du Rhône Cuvée Unique Vieilles Vignes) Bright cherry red color; a little reduction, sulfur, along with smoke and tart plum on nose; tight, tart black fruit, charcoal and mineral palate, a little disjointed; medium finish

Floral nose. Blackberry and unsweeted cocoa on the palate mildly tannic finish. Holding-up well as better on 2nd day.
