Third wine at the Vintner Luncheon for Napa Valley Vintners SOMM DC.
Dark garnet red with lighter edges. Secondary notes coming through on the nose with leather, tobacco, dusted cherries and savory nuances. Medium tannins (5.5/10) with a full body. Well integrated palate with cherries, earth and truffles. Long finish. Drink till 2026.

WOTN for some. A very good last stop of our exploration of California Cabernet. Was preceded by a delicious Sonoma cab. Paired with Gorgonzola Beef Tenderloin. Strangely, was the favorite only of the gentlemen at the table. While the ladies preferred the '09 Sonoma opened before. This might make sense as I would describe the profile of the Sonoma as feminine, while the '05 Napa presented as more earthy and masculine. great times all around : )

I've tried its little brother, Worthy, and I bought three bottles of Axios over a year ago. This is the first and well worth the wait. A very nice deep red color, with full nose, strong tannins but nicely balanced. Love the finish too. This is an excellent wine.

Dark body, light ridge. Big nose and leather and dark fruit on the palette. Wonderful. Sad I only have one bottle!
