Very dark in glass. Strong nose of oak, black fruit, dark chocolate and hints of asphalt. The palate has large weight and body, tending toward a dark fruit character with some tobacco and cocoa notes. The tannins here are still very firm. Good acidity. The problem here is the heat on the finish, it is very strong and over-rides the flavors of the fruit. Warms the stomach on big swallows. If you like a big, oaky Cali Syrah you will likely like this a lot.

Bright red fruit on the nose with the slightest hint of must and a bit of alcohol. Intense oak on the palate with lots of vanilla and harsh tannins. Drinks very well, but I hope the alcohol mellows out over time.

Nice lush fruit with decent balance of flavor and tannin but really hot on the finish. Dark chocolate with typical heavy Syrah fruit on the palate. Good stuff but a stark reminder of why I should not buy wine drunk.
