14.1% alcohol. Cool, controlled, refined, and moderately proportioned with an aromatic and flavor signature of tart black cherry, wild raspberry, rhubarb, stem/wintergreen, and earth. Structurally, the wine possesses good acidity with a seemingly resolved tannin profile and softer, medium length finish. Becomes showier - picking up weight, concentration, and riper fruit tones - as the wine continues to take on air. Drinking beautifully.
14.1% alcohol. Age has done wonders for this wine. It has resolved and worked itself out beautifully. Lovely nose of black cherry, subtle steminess, and pretty earth notes. In the mouth, refined, vibrant, and enjoyable, with plenty of up-front cherry fruit, excellent underlying complexity from the earthy notes, and good acidity. Smooth, elegant finish. This has turned out better than I would have anticipated from tasting it young. A-
Popped and poured and consumed over four hours including dinner. Glossy ripe fruit representative of both the vintage and the region. Smooth and tasty but perhaps lacking depth or complexity. A fine effort for an appellation wine. Drink now or over the next five years.
Bottle #1 of 3. Wow. Even better than the 08, this is taut and shining, and seems to be just coming out of its shell - bursting with energy. Drooling for all my single vineyard gems at the back of the cellar. Impressive flavor profile, complexity, precision and class. If this is a taste of things to come..... This has another 6-8 years on its peak would be my guess.
