Dark red colour, very slightly faded. The nose is very forward with dark red fruit, plum, almost prune. The palate needed at least ½ hour in the glass to come together. Intense notes of black fruit, yet balanced with well-integrated fine ripe tannins. Just approaching drinking window. I suggest another 2-3 years to get to a still better place, although enjoyable now. Likely will deserve a higher rating then.

Needed about an hour to breathe and continued to improve. Darker fruit flavor profile, ripe plum, decent weight to it but missing the depth you’d want in a wine at this level from 2005. Still quite enjoyable.

Dark ruby. Pretty raspberry and red fruited nose. Very structured and primary on the palate. An hour in the decanter brought out more complexity. An elegant Corton which is probably still in its infancy. Judging from its lack of age, this should be very pretty in 5-10 years time.

Semi transparent ruby with notes of cherry, beetroot, spice, etc. Needs at least 3 more yrs to show as the tannins and acidity are stealing the show at the moment. All the parts are here with the addition of a potential point or two at maturity.

Dried and fresh cherries of varying hues makes me think, in spite of knowing full well what I ordered at "pubology" in gamla stan, Stockholm, Sweden, that this is a modern style barolo. The balance is fine, the body more in the medium/elegant expression and while there are perhaps some dry tannins at the end and a bit of heat, I feel certain that this will be mellowed out over the next decade or so. Excellent.
