Enjoyed at dinner time at our Family Christmas Celebration, held several weeks before Christmas to allow our married children and their children to spend this year with their in-laws. The first bottle of The Marshall was so enjoyed that they asked for another, and another. Full Argentine pleasures received kudos from all.

Medieval Malbec. After opening in a glass for about an hour, the nose releases spring flowers in a freshly mown field. Very natural. The palate opens with a pronounced acidity that mellows only a touch into tart wild berries. Tawny tannins and ancient oak on the finish.

Compared to my first bottle of Marshall a year ago, this one is relatively disappointing. Muted aromatics on nose. Good but undistinctive Malbec flavors on the palate. Little finish at all. Hope it's just bottle variation and not a wine that has past it's time. Next bottle will tell.
