Classic Alzinger nose; one sniff and it's like falling in love all over again with these bottles. That said, it was missing some of the very fine cut that tends to distinguish these wines. Highly enjoyable nonetheless, and a welcome companion to a wide range of foods. I'd drink now and over the next few years. recommended
Aerated to decanter 3 hours, served non-blind.

Another winner from Alzinger. Much more expressive right now than the '07 Steinertal, conveying bright citrus and pear fruit with a sense of real clarity and purity, and stony, floral and herbal accents. There's wonderful balance here and a sense of real refreshment that makes a bottle disappear quickly.

Very nice nose of citrus and stones/minerals. However, a little hot and flabby at the same time. Rounded out over the next day.

Wine is in a delicious place now. Open, balanced, great tension, restraint and complexity all in one. About the finesse of the Wachau, not the power.
