Minimal bouquet, but good fruity taste. A bit of alcohol bite, but not (quite) too much. A bit of a harsh finish, but again not bad. Good, but not great, Barbera.

Good wine. Especially with rustic food. Ruby red, could pass as a Pinot. On the nose, a bit of funk introduces sweet raspberry and cherry with some cigarbox finishing up. Acidic, but not very complex. An iron note. Dry. Will age. Round and silky, sour raspberry/cranberry, pickle, creosote, spice. Day 2: cranberry, lots of acidity.

This is an easy drinking wine that leans more towards a California wine than an Italian style Barbera. A medium bodied wine with a very long finish, this wine starts with black cherries and blackberries on the nose, but has oak, chocolate, and charcoal on the pallet. Hints of raspberry. Alcohol a bit high, but very enjoyable. Tannins present but soft.
