  • The nose drew us in with earthy compost and orange peel layered on top of meaty red fruits. The palate showed initial bright red fruits that darkened toward the end of the profile combined with earthy notes to soften the fruit. The backbone of acidity and aged tannins was just right making it food friendly and giving it a medium length finish.

  • Nose of bright red fruits, tar and smoked meat. In the mouth, this was meaty, dark, cooked fruit with spicy notes. A clear, full tannic structure supported a fairly long and well balanced profile. This was lip smacking good and finished in about 90 minutes (during which time it changed considerably, expressing more bright fruit.)

  • Ruby color. Nose of briary fruits, some plum, smoke. Similar palate dominated by blackberry, earth, smoke, some spice. Good tannic structure and may mellow a bit with 2-4 years of bottle age. Good now though.
