Nose: Big oak toast with some faint pineapple. Palate: The BIG toast of the nose is very evident on palate. The pineapple also present with still very fresh acidity for a 5 year old, new world Chard. Good lingering finish. This would score higher (91-92) if the big oak were more in check. Perhaps if I had opened this a year or so earlier things would be different as maybe the fruit would have been more prevalent, and thus provided counterbalance, but given other reviews around that timetable I think this has always been an oak monster. Nonetheless I do enjoy it, but given that balance is a key metric for me it gets a still very respectable 90 points.

I do not usually like Chardonnay, this had a lot of notes of a red wine. It was oaky, but not overly. Deep gold, tastes pear, apple, some spice which I think is why I liked it

Really nice. Not really buttery, but a nice richness, and good acid on the finish. Great food wine.

Wonderful chard! Beautifully balanced tart citrus and buttery oak notes with a long finish.

OUTSTANDING
I, as well of the rest of the group, were very surprised at this Chardonnay. Steely and very old world with fantastic fruit.
