Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 95 points

  • It wasn't as thin as the 2005 but didn't have any body, the fruit on the attack was poor. no mid-palete whatsoever and the finish was comparable to water. The only reason for the 85 point score was because of the ease with which one could drink it.

  • My friend who will go back to UK, brought this bottle.

I do not expect much out of this bottle as I had heard that 2006 requires lots of aging time.

Haut Grignon 2006 stunned me right off my first sniff !!! Floral and silky nose.

Red plums, gravels & damp pebbles, blackberries. The scent of this wine blown me away.
    Still young but accessible now.

Medium bodied wine with sweet tannin which will be at it's best for long time with the lasting finish. (94-95 pts.)

    Family DUCOS

Jean-Denis Ducos perfected his knowledge of wine to the Château Baron Philippe de Rothschild where he worked as a technical manager during 26 years. This is where he met passion of the high-class wines and traditions. He now vinifies its harvest himself and without addition of chemicals.
