Really tight out of bottle w/20 min decant. Might improve with time, but had to search for fruit in this one. Not vegietal or green, just not present in enough density. Pleasant nose, limited on palate. Might just be too young, like a Borolo at release. Only bottle, so will look for comments in 3 years or so. 2ND DAY TASTING: substantial improvement, core of red fruit comes out to offer red rasberry and cherry notes, with a surrounding structure of still-firm tannins and balancing acids. Drink window s/b 2010-2013. Interesting California version of a varietal, still in old-world style.
