Recently acquired 4 bottles from our CC cellar restructuring sale. Very interesting wine - by far the oldest chenin blanc we have had. Not a bad QPR at all. This is still very drinkable but completely evolved into secondary flavors with little original fruit left and this bottle was also I believe slightly oxidized but not to the point of being flawed which added a separate interesting dimension as well. Golden amber color, good and somewhat thick textured mouth feel, fruit almost entirely gone and flavors are now almost entirely secondary flavors - clearly not originally meant to be held this long though. Off-dry nose of honey, honeysuckle and ripe peach with a corresponding and similar off-dry and somewhat sweeter then expected (not cloying or jammy at all, just initially expected this wine to be drier) flavor profile of honey, honey suckle, banana and pineapple. Interested in seeing if next bottle also slightly oxidized - if so may just designate last 2 bottles for cooking. Neutral on a recommendation given where this wine is which I think is clearly much further along then the winemaker intended - still a very interesting wine though.

Upfront tropical fruit, ripe pineapple, melon, peaches and honey flavours on the nose. Full and juicy palate with layers of ripe tropical fruit complemented by a long clean and crisp aftertaste.

Complex and distinctive, crafted in a lush, modern style with lots of spicy oak accenting yellow peach, poached pear, hazelnut, clove and floral aromas. Bright, oaky, and melon-flavored on the palate with well balanced acidity and a faint touch of oak tannin.

No score - 2nd bottle significantly more off / aged then 1st one about 6 weeks ago - went great into risotto though as cooking wine...

Good fuit with a little spiciness. Went really well with roasted brussel sprouts, apples and bacon.
