  Upon pouring into decanter had a slight rust hue to it. Initial smell was dark and musty. smell evened out after about an hour in decanter at which point could smell oak, spice and red fruit. flavor was hidden too when first poured, but eventually opened up. had moderate oak flavor, mixed in with some fruit, spice, slight green pepper and a mild tannic finish. reminiscent of a mid 90's napa cab.
