Weekend in the Santa Ynez Valley; 3/27/2009-3/30/2009 (Solvang, Los Olivos, Lompoc, and surround areas): much of the same characteristics as the Purisima syrah, but shows much more velvety and soft compared to the Purisima's more structured edges. The fruit is a bit more lush and forward without some of the more earthy flavors. Both excellent syrah, but I still have to give the edge to the Purisima.
