  Drank with baked ziti after church on Christmas Eve. Came after a bottle of La Gerla Roso di Montalcino. This was more interesting, but not a great deal so. Reticient nose, probably dried fruit. Primary palate, tannins integrated. Was adequate to wash down the simple dish it went with. Not much else to say. Somewhat disappointing given the price and the maker. Problem must to be the vintage, which appears to have been bad throughout Italy. Moral: beware 2002 Italians.

He thought it was fine. I thought it was better with food (lasagne bolognese).
