Single Quinta port from Croft’s flagship vineyard. Nice and fine, and improved into day 2. Sweet blackberry and plum fruit. Not as complex or long as vintage port can be, but good value.

1st day this seemed a bit rough round the edges, tannic, leathery and with a big dose of toffee in there. The next day it was much better, mellow with a dusty spiciness and plenty of fruit and a little nuttiness. There’s still that toffee note - that might be bad storage - but this is a nice Port. Really very nice. I think I paid £20 for it which is a bargain.

A decent vintage port drunk over 3 days. Best on day two. Softened nicely, dark plummy fruit with a hint of fig. Medium sweetness but not too sweet. Tannins resolved. This is ready to go.

Coal dust / coffee powder note on the nose, ripe dark fruit, Mellowing beautifully, soft , sweet fruit, bit of tannin on the end, plum jam. Good now though no hurry to drink.

Croft VPs (P81): Nice liquorice note with a medium sweetness. Good wine but nothing spectacular.
