Opened for 3 hours but not decanted. Deep red,with only mild bricking. Nose moderate with flowers and tar. Palate of dark fruits, tar and roses. Mouth drying tannins on day 1. Similar performance on day 2 with better integrated tannins. I do prefer traditionally made Barolo. This still has life ahead of it. Drinking well but no rush

Nebbiolo: Manca completamente il frutto, aromaticità terziaria e vegetalizzazione, ruggine, funghi secchi, menta, potentissimo e avvolgente il tannino, il ferro, un guerriero scuro e incazzato, probabilmente immortale.

2001 Barbaresco and Barolo (Tolani Wine Restaurant, 410 Amsterdam Ave, NYC): Silky tannic thick. Perhaps the most extracted wine so far. Medium length.
