light bodied with some bright cherry fruit and earth on the nose and palette.Smooth finish. not as concentrated as other vintages, and certainly nothing offensive it paired well with roasted salmon.

Compared to the '06 and '08 this was without question the lightest of the wines and my least favorite. Not sure much more time in the bottle will help it. Just not enough body to the wine for my taste.

2007 Shea Vineyard Tasting (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR): Dark cherry skins show on the nose along with a night of sour dough, and some earthy notes. The wine delivers a great dusty mouth feel with lovely, balanced cherry flavors. Gentle tannins fill the mouth and dry fully after a few consecutive sips. Some faint mandarin orange notes show themselves late on the finish along with gentle tannins. The components are even and balanced, and a faint green note shows on the finish. 89+

2007 Shea vineyard comparative tasting (Willamette Wine Storage - Portland, OR): Bright red fruit, strong stemmy scents along with a bit of mushroom in there. Smells really nice. Strong red tea flavors initially on the palate for me, cherries backing it up, and a light floral note as well leading into the finish. Medium-low intensity throughout with acidity showing just a bit strong in the finish. Medium length. A very nice wine overall, just nothing that exciting about it either.

Had ruby / light cherry red color to it. Smell was tart cherries, with earth and cinnamon as well. The taste had tartness, strawberry licorice, and a slightly jammy tone to it. It finished tart as well, not very tannic and somewhat dry. Overall, it had a nice balance of earthiness and jam/fruit, but was a bit too tart for my taste. It was missing something to take it to another level and I would not purchase another at this price point.
