  • From a bottle purchased on release, this wine had a very deep red center and puce rims. The high- intensity nose put forth plums, violets, asian spices, and minerals.

In the mouth, this wine had a bit of and edge for the first hour or so but rounded out nicely to show rich fruit, rounded tannin, solid acidity, and very nice length.

I had this bottle open for 6 hours before I started drinking it. It still seems a bit primary and will get better over the next decade. It will last another decade after that.

  • Purchased through the mailing list, this bottle was in perfect condition. The wine had a deep red center and light red/clear rims. The high- intensity nose offered up black cherries, plums, vitamins, soil, and clove.

In the mouth, this wine was rich and ripe with huge flavor and structure. It had bold fruit flavors, notable rounded tannin, good definition, and very good length. It had had a "savage" quality (complexity) and excellent length. The minor negative, to me, was it had just enough material to cover its elevated alcohol content.

This was a fun wine with attractive complexity. However, I am a touch concerned about aging it further as the structure might outlast the fruit. Thus, I might lean towards drinking this wine sooner rather than later.

  • this guy was like an older burgundy that lost its pinot fruit for most of the night , i just took a sip now( next day ) and it has much more fruit , purple/red color , but still not much pinot fruit nice wine but lacking in many respects……drink the rest later today for final judgement……so it was more fruit but also took on some pruney fruit…..good wine , but was disappointed.

  • A little musty on the nose. Browning. Still decent fruit but disappointing compared with 2000 Marcassin/Marcassin. If you have any of this left, drink up.

  • Wine needed a little time to open up but was still amazing. Ripe red fruit on palate with hints of forest floor. Soft silky tannins and long finish. Sorry this was the last one!
