The Wines of Comte Armand and Benjamin Leroux (Beltramo's, Menlo Park): Medium ruby. Menthol on the nose. Medium body, fairly round, but not sweet at all. Big tannins that are initially out of proportion to the fruit, but these do soften a bit. I prefer the village Volnay to this, but that is not to say that this is an inaccurate representation of its terroir.

taste: very good feel with medium+ acidity and tones of red fruits, dark red cherries and dark berries
overall: a real nice wine that obviously needs a bit of time to shed some baby fat. A real nice pommard with nice depth. Should take a couple of years to fully come around
