Delicious. Big wine. Great fruit. Aged way beyond the normal shelf life for a Zin. I wanted to drink it a drop at a time and savor every delicious moment. Some heat on the nose, similar to port on the palate. Long finish. By far the best 2002 Rosenblum Zin when I tasted it at the tasting room. WS said in 2004 the drinking window was now-2009. They were wrong. Any fruit from the Monte Rosso vineyard has the goods to age well if stored properly. 2009 is still available from Rosenblum and other wineries sell Zins made from Monte Rosso fruit.

Not as Milky Way-ish as I remember when I bought this. More fruit forward, lesss emphasis on the caramel and cocoa accents. Still a well balanced wine. Subtle tannins still present, but I'm not sure this aged for the better over four years. Drink up.

2003 Syrah/Shiraz (Tasted Blind) (Rich and Peggy's House, Los Altos, California): Very good nose. A little bit of heat. Tasted blind.
Correctly guessed as Zin.

like a big zin should. Lots of berry, really nice spice, and big chewy finish.

a little coughsyrupy up front but within an hour mellowed to a gooey bowl of berries.
