  Thought I might have left this one too long but no way, it's fabulous.
  Great deep rich colour.
  Deep dark fruit fragrance with gentle earth. Distinctly rich but very smooth.
  Lovely rich ripe fruits, damson, dark cherry, raspberry brightness and a hint of plum.
  Firm acidity and decent tannins give it structure and have obviously helped it age well. Has a long clean finish, slightly tart but not troubling. There is a lot to like about this. Not overly aged, some earth but nothing excessive, really nice drinking. Glad I forgot about it.

  Blind Burgundies -Confrerie des Chevaliers du Tastevin Singapore Back to Basics (Absinthe, Bukit Pasoh): A solid, solid wine. Not immediately identifiable as an NSG, but this was quite the best red Burg of the day for me, besting quite a few bigger names. Lovely nose, full of lush earthy, mossy sous bois tones and meaty goodness along with subtle shadings of dark fruit. Palate was clean, extremely well-balanced and all plush and silky, yet was clearly very serious, with quite a profound depth of sappy dark cherry and strawberry fruit seasoned with a nice spiciness. Very classy stuff, and very delicious. I found the wine had a lovely transparency and lightness to go along with a wonderful mouthfeel. Not very 1996 at all! Finish was decent too. Started out mid-length, but stretched out with time to show pure cherry tones with a touch of crushed flowers. A real charmer.
