{screwcap, 14%} Fairly light, floral and rosy, hint of black pepper, raspberries. Not terribly developed yet. Not hugely concentrated wine, verging on savoury in character. Seems a bit lost at the moment. Just medium-bodied; flavours similar to the nose. More time needed, probably.

{screwcap, 14%} Rather subdued and closed nose of violets and roses. Pure, light fruit; little oak. Perhaps a nod to dark chocolate as well. The palate is pretty closed too; slightly curranty, dark chocolate flavours, but it's not dense, nor is it terribly intense. It has a cool kind of aspect to it, although there's a little alcoholic warmth on the palate; tannins are very fine, almost sandy, but low level. Freshly acidic. Hasn't budged beyond youthful; probably shouldn't be touched for ten years. Australian shiraz putting on a Chinon-like hat & coat. Sourced by Tyrrells from some Clonakilla vineyards I think, thanks to the washed-out 2008 Hunter red vintage.
