Dark cherries and sweet tobacco on the nose with a stemmy/minty note and a hint of cedar or sandalwood. Balanced palate with dark cherry compote and some minerality. Very gentle, drying tannins on the finish.

This wine shows some notes of red berries, tar, cinnamon, rosemary, clove, cherry pie, mint, forest floor and a hint of barnyard. The palate is dominated by acidity with a medium tannin structure and even though is enjoyable i would hold it for additional time to let the acidity smooth a little. Will try in another year.

Dundee Hills Passport Weekend; 4/17/2010-4/18/2010 (Dundee Hills Oregon): Dark cherry scents and grapefruit appear on the nose along with some even oak. The wine is crisp with grapefruit and strawberry flavors dominating. The acidity is full and bright and it cleans everything up very nicely leaving a hint of watermelon flavor on the finish.

Jan 23rd Dundee Hills Visit (Dundee Hills Oregon): Oregon funk wrapped up with raspberry and apple scents appear on the nose. There's something suggesting minerality as well, and the fruit has an excellent "tart" component to it that I'm excited about. The wine starts out very light on the palate. It continues to be very smooth, and delivers some nice apple flavors and even acid. The tannins are soft, and toward the finish the acidity makes my mouth water as the light fruit fades. 89-
