Community Tasting Notes (1)

  • Aged ruby to brick red with orange rim.
Developed nose of peashoot vegetals, liquorice, perfume, oak, rose hip, slight lingonberry and otherwise rather raisiny fruit.
Quite fullbodied palate with a hint of tannin showing. Some cough drop, dried fruit and oak towards the decent length finish.
The bottle had been open for about an hour before I (being late from the tasting) got to try it. The wine seemed quite alright with some nice aged characteristics. But hell no would I have thought this to be a GC Bourgogne (from 1999). The fruit was rather raisiny and there seemed to remain no mushroomy or sous bois notes that really could have made the difference. Some thought this to represent fine aged Bourgogne, which I sure did not. Quite a dissappointment.
