Cata Histórica Puntido y Victorino con Marcos Eguren (Bodega Santa Cecilia - Madrid): Initially a note of humidity. Plums compote with vegetable hints. Forest soil. Espresso and pure cocoa. A note of colony that I detest. Marcos says it was corked and urged to change bottle. The substitute is more meaty, fresh, floral, with licorice and some mint. On the palate is soft, tannin intense but half-tamed. Much better than the previous bottle.

Very young. Candied and woody nose. Fruits in the background. Palate was slightly strong with the dark berries and some plums. Syrupy candied and some wood... Quite alike pencil lead. Finish was slightly shorter that I would've liked. Palate bursts into the mouth but fades and blunts in the mid palate. Finish was slightly disapointing after the initial flavours.
Food resolves this wine. Much more balanced.

A dark purple hue almost inky and no doubt a modern rendition of a Rioja. Slightly confected but silky smooth, polished and enjoyable.
