Confrerie Chapitre De Vigne En Fleur (The French Table Bistro - Vancouver, BC): This had a fair bit more fruit expression and less earth than the '96 Brunelle tasted along side, with tart pomegranate, some skunk, bright red cherries and sharp currants with tons of dust on the nose. Plenty of red cherry and spice on the palate, along with a hint of menthol and some dark black currants. Tons of acid with firm tannins, this still has plenty of time left in the tank. Quite clean on the palate but a touch flat and lacking that excitement that would put it into the next level. Very good

Drank over 3 nights with a long lasting Oxtail Bourgogne , side by side w/ '93 Camille Giroud Aloxe-Corton. A little forest on the nose, some spice. First night, some red fruits, sweet tannins, of it's time. Finishs bright. 2nd night, fuller in the mouth, darker fruits , good with the Oxtail, some persistence on the finish. 3rd night, faded but still good.
