Nicely structured, with bright acidity and a prominent vein of minerality – some bite to the tannins, but nothing too harsh. Lacking at midpalate, though.

Really enjoyed this. Went to the LWS store intending to pickup the 2007 LMR Cab (around $39), but took this home instead as I really love to see what people can do with blends. (from the website this has Cabernet Sauvignon, merlot, Sangiovese and Petite Syrah, but no percentages given) I compared this with 2007 Robert Foley The Griffin, which I had the night before. (from the website only the 2008 description indicates what's in the blend which apparently was changed from 2007 - Petite Sirah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Charbono and Merlot).
At this point, the LMR is a more interesting wine for much less money. Fruity on the nose and front end, but not over-the-top and more subtle than a "big cab" letting the merlot and sangiovese come through. For me the back end was the "upside surprise", with a kick of spice, light pleasant tannins, which for me make it a better food wine than the Robert Foley. At around $17, I see this as a very good QPR and something I would pick to drink tonight.

Elegant character. Fruit forward, but not overly bold. Full flavor yet subtle. Hint of slight pepper on the front that quickly mellows out.
