golden color. At first a fair amount of wood, but left open overnight uncorked, it gains focus and freshness. Basil, lemon curd, and white flowers on the nose. There is good acidity juxtaposed with the Chassagne textural richness. Mouthwatering, with excellent cut and verve that seems to be a recurring '07 theme: my favorite white Burg vintage in many years. Clean and deep with great minerality, lift, and focus. I wish I was not afraid to cellar this for another 5-7 years, as I would expect failing premox that this would be something special with bottle age. 92+

Opened next to an '08 Louis Carillon Perrieres. Here, the nose is toastier and just a shade darker in color than the Carillon. In the mouth there are flavors of lemon pulp and salt, though I find that the palate is driven more by the acids than the fruit, and perhaps comes across as a touch lean. While I’ve had this before, I think I enjoyed it more than I did today next to the Carillon.

Brilliant stuff. Elegant and rich with good weight but a fabulous silkiness. Good ripeness with a rich, delicious core but maintaining great precision and focus. Explosive nose and good length but all in a very seductive, very easy to drink manner. Really fantastic bottle of wine, opened 6 hrs ahead of time and effortlessly finished.

La Paulée de San Francisco - Grand Tasting (Westin St. Francis - San Francisco CA): Tasting, brief note. Nice floral start with good lemon character and spice hints. Moderate weight and length.
