  • Lovely new world Bordeaux blend. Silky smooth with a touch of spice and tobacco from the cab. Better than I remembered it and still drinking well.

  • Pleasant, but not outstanding, in my opinion -- the nose is grain and celery, not much of a cherry or fruit opening up. The taste is more of vegetable, mineral with some modest fruit sense. As one would expect there is not a sharp spice sense, but neither is there an overwhelming sense of craft or 'well put together' moment. Instead this feels like the kind of wine that you get at many mass dinners to go with food (e.g. at weddings). Not bad, not memorable, and fine as it goes (note that this is not very expensive). This paired well with pasta and scallops.

  • Well, my impressions aren't the same as anyone's here. Cherry and graphite aromas are followed up with dried currant flavors. There are distinctive herbal notes, a lashing of oak, and more grip to the tannins as it opens up. Nicely made for $20, and has real character.

  • Twitter Taste Live (tastelive.com): The nose was rather muted at first and I couldn't get much from it except a hint of fresh strawberries and herbs I couldn't make out. I was tasting it at what should be an ideal temperature of 48 degrees so I don't think that muted the aroma. As it warmed above 50 degrees (used the trusty static fish thermometer I recommended in our post on wine temps) the nose came out to play with soil covered strawberries, herbs, vanilla and rose petals. The palate was strawberry creme, pound cake and thyme sprigs. Refreshing acidity in balance with the flavors. Again, a bit of a short finish but strawberry shortcake, thyme and minerality left behind. I am not a big Rosé drinker but this might make me think twice about that. It is actually quite good. 50+5+11+17+6=89 pts.
