2007 Two Hands Shiraz Tasting at Winetasters of Toronto Club (North York Memorial Hall): 2007 Two Hands Shiraz Max's Garden was aromatically closed with chalky tannin, and was out-shadowed by the two other Garden tier wine. The Heathcote Shiraz was almost opaque deep ruby in colour with relatively thin browning rim. The wine was not quite giving on the nose, with eucalyptus, ripe plum and jammy blackberries. The mouthfeel was full-bodied, with medium of acidity and medium-high level of chalky tannin. The medium finish had flavours of jam, ripe dark fruits, coffee and chocolate. The individual ranking was the sixth, and the table rank was the co-fifth out of eight Two Hands Shiraz wines in the tasting.

Heavy, chewy, wine with very short decant. Really needed some to air. Flavors were just developing towards the end of the bottle. Still some time on this. Easily another 5 years.

A wild and complex Shiraz that is at peak near 15 years of age. Pours a deep ruby.
Powerful nose shows wonderful oak integration. Notes of chocolate covered cherry, raspberry, eucalyptus, potpourri and smoke.
Tannins are fine with no astringency but still present. Balanced acidity. Alcohol is fully integrated. A full bodied wine with a plush mouthfeel.
Amazing flavours. Ripe red cherry and black cherry core. Spicy black pepper, smoke and dark chocolate.
Long finish.
At peak. Drink now.

Good shiraz but much drier that I expected with less depth than the typical fruit heavy Aussie shiraz.
