RRV and Napa Visit; 7/7/2014-8/30/2014 (Napa and Sonoma): Starting to turn a corner in its flavor profile. Getting some tertiary notes. A bigger turn than just a year older than the 03 would suggest. Lots of sous bois, brown leaf and brown sugar notes.

bottle hadn't been cellared. might've led to it tasting older, limited fruit, more fig and earthiness, had a nice start, md and finish, tasted better after 2 hrs decanted. my bottle should've been opened a few years ago. will be curious to see how others stored under better conditions fared.

On the nose, subtle Asian spice, cassis, leather. Palette medium body and smooth finish. Slight tannins.
