  • This is bottle one of two that I brought ome direct from the winery in Sicily. What a lovely place and the Curto's couldn't be a nicer family. That said we decanted this about an hour before dinner. As I was hoping, this wine showed very similar to how it did back in Sicily. It's shocking how much structure and complexity that they get out of Nero d'Avola, something that I typically associate with simple, easy drinking "pizza wine." Nose shows dusty black fruits and a touch of sweet spices. This carries over to the palate with integrated, dusty tannin and minerals. I just love the depth to the fruit here. Such a nice wine and went amazing with dinner.
