I don't know what the rest of you reviewers are smoking but I want some. This wine was as cliche and pedestrian as it gets. Clarity in its dark ruby color is present. However, Mssr Davis's attempt to emulate the French country style has done a complete disservice to the source of his grapes. A nose of pure barnyard followed by softened tannins has a finish that was at times dark cherry and others vanilla extract. Nonetheless, this wine completely underwhelmed. I am certain that Mssr Pisoni would be irate over the expression of his coveted juice. This is a complete swing and miss of those trying to create old world wine in the new world. If you are searching for this style right here in America is has been perfected by Duncan Arnot, Nathan Roberts, and Philippe Melka. Remember Joe, this varietal is sexy when it expresses fruit not French snot.

Served with the appetizers on t-giving. Very nice rose with only a slight hint of sweetness. Everyone enjoyed this wine and a great way to start to feast.

Red-pink color. Perfumy nose strikes me as being minerally, and leads into the surprisingly dry palate: light fruits and beautiful minerality on the medium-light bodied palate; strawberry on the finish; 14.2% alc. gives this a little pep in its step, but doesn’t come across as alcoholic. Nice, different, not outstanding. I like it.

Classic gary fruit. Great red fruits in balance. This wine will last 10-15 years. I would wait until after 2013 to open more.
