Decanted for 1.5h. Sharp and spicy, deep penetrating, almost palpable red fruit, well integrated. Solid. Peppery. Very hefty. The finish has black pepper, faint oak, and smooth tannins.

The cork broke in the top of the bottle, which was a bit of a pain. The wine was then decanted and drunk with the meal. Very pleasant, no good tasting notes. Just a pleasant memory.

We bought two bottles of this after a tour at the winery when we talked the guide into opening a bottle during the tasting afterwards. It was very young but had great potential. Finally decided to open one. Popped and poured. Earth, roasted herbs, black cherry, vanilla all integrated with a great backbone of tannins. This was the wow factor we chase in drinking wine. They price these bottles high but this one was worth it.
