  Dark purple and garnet hue. Hints of blackberry, black currant and cherry in the aromas with some black pepper spice, green olive, wet rock, tobacco and coffee notes overtoned by some almond bouquet and lots of heat. Alcohol comes out quite disjointed on the nose, which fails to integrate with the other nice elements. Medium body. I do get quite a bit of blackberry, currant, plum, black cherry on the attack, good fruit, but just a little unripe. Nice balance of tannic structure coupled with fresh acidity on the mid-palate, leading only to a medium and austere finish, with some cherry, plum some very light oak touch fighting to come out. Definitely solid effort letting nature do its course. Needs some time to come together. Open after 2012.
