Tasted very modern and I would not have been able to pick out where this was from or what varietal it was. Big brooding nose of fig and dark fruit. Huge licorice and dark fruit flavors along with oak on the palate. Not my thing.

YES, mature now, well integrated, characteristic Nebbiolo, elegant, medium bodied. Some, enough, tanninic bite remaining. Very nice. Will be even better in 2-5 years.

Late summer gathering with friends.: Had this after a Paul Hobbs Pinot. Intensely floral nose, but palate so austere and dry that it was essentially devoid of fruit. I wonder if my impression of this wine would have struck me differently if I had not had the Hobbs before. I also wonder if this was flawed in some way.

Not able to taste properly, but in his drinking window right now, with softened better integrated tannins than five years ago, medium length.
