  • Interesting wine for me. I have not had a 10+ year old Chorey before. The nose has cranberry, spice and sous-bois notes. On taste a bit lean with the fruit faded but still firm tannins - kind of surprising for 2002. Decent intensity and acidity on taste although the fruit faded;however, as time goes on the fruit notes on the nose and taste come out - backward wine. Long length though. On the finish a bit of oak tannin. For some reason I like it - though as I state some of the notes it does not sound so enticing. There is something still alive in the wine and seductive about the flavors. Interesting.

  • I thought this was nice stuff. Relatively thin body. nice floral nose. Light cherry fruit with Washington state red apple, almost cidery. Interesting.

  • Two years ago I drank my other bottle of this village wine and gave it an 84, saying it needed more time. It did. I enjoyed my second bottle more, hence the upgrade. Light, clear reddish-purple color. Mostly smoke and earth on the medium nose, but a mouth full of cherries and red fruit with a slightly acidic melon tang. Tannins in the background, giving it good structure. Decently long finish. An old world, fruit-backward pinot meant to be paired with food.

  • Good village pinot noir. Could use some more time.
