Interesting, the Le Cuvier Syrahs tend to be restrained while still savory and meaty after considerable aging, with nice resolved tannins and food-friendly acidity. Unlike the zins, that seem to go on and on being alcoholic oaky fruit bombs. This was a nice wine and good with a comfort food dinner of rich pork roast and gravy with noodles and braised veggies.

Pop and poured. Tight in the beginning and deceptively flat. After about 3-4 hours, charred oak, plum, spice, and a hint of licorice and buttered toast. Firm tannins. Well balanced, long plummy finish with a hint of cherry jam and mint.

Yuck. Sickly sweet, oaky, and sticky with no acidity or tannins. Flabby doesn't even begin to describe this wine.
