Oldest Veraton I've had. Very hot initially, but that alcohol blew off in the decanter. What remained was an extremely well integrated and balanced beauty from Alto Moncayo. Absolutely one of the best quality wines for the price. Still has some life left, but why wait - its beautiful now.

Deep ruby. On the nose the wine has medium plus intensity aromas of violets, black cherries, dried blueberries, a hint of bramble, baking spices, lavender. On the palate the wine is dry with medium plus acidity, medium plus fine tannins, high ETOH, and full body. The finish is long and lingering, black cherries and spices with a hint of coffee. This wine is very good, the flavors, oak, spice and alcohol all nicely integrated, complexity and intensity. THere is a silky quality and so many flavors you want to take another sip, and another, and another,,,,

PnP'd. Drank beautifully--the alcohol and oak that annoyed years back have both integrated into a seamless wine. Soft plummy fruit with notes of canned pear, vanilla bean, and cream soda. Well-cellared bottles might coast here for years--I'll give them 2025.

We drank this with dinner at a friends house near Torreperogil Spain on 6/19/17. It had a deep, rich bouquet of black cherry, cola, sassafras, vanilla and spice aromas. The palate was rich, complex and tasty with flavors of black cherry, cola and baking spice. 92+
